Netflix added autoplay!

Hey I don’t need to update my bookmarklet any more. Actually, I was going to update it again, but I had an interview with them and they told me it was about to happen, so that was why I didn’t bother! Didn’t know if I should post that before it happened though. It was fun though, thanks everybody for enjoying it!

  1. Hey Matt, thank you for all of your work. I was waiting for you to update the bookmarklet but then I thought they added autoplay. Unfortunately they really didn’t. It plays a couple of episodes then a screen comes up in the middle of play that says continue play so it’s really useless. I was hoping maybe you could come up with something that prevents that screen and makes it actually work. As always, it will be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi!
My name is Felipe. I just found your website and I am wondering if you want to help me out.

I am developing a SRT (subtitle) loader for Netflix, since the new layout broke the function of loading dfxp subtitles. I will call it Srtflix.

So, what I am thinking… I see you are very experienced with javascript over netflix, so is there any way to get the actual playtime from the running movie?

    • I have not found a way to get the current play time of the video. This was actually a very annoying problem for me. Sorry I can’t help more.

  3. Any chance you know of something that would let me turn autoplay off? I can see that it’s a useful feature for folks who want to do a marathon, but I prefer watching shows in a rotation, with breaks between episodes.

  4. Darn. NF seems to be quite obstinate in insisting that this is how it will be, henceforth and forever, and those of us who don’t like it can just lump it. It makes me less-than-happy with them.
